Once an apprentice himself, James founded TMJ in 1981 and hasn’t looked back since. Over the past 40 years James has actively led the ever-growing team to great success. With a huge passion for Training and Development, James has been an advocate for reinvestment in both our works and people.

Tim transitioned to TMJ after a brief career in civil engineering, earning a place in the company's apprenticeship program. Upon completing his apprenticeship, he swiftly advanced through various departments, building a wealth of knowledge and experience. In 2020, Tim was appointed to the Board of Directors, and by 2025, he assumed the role of Managing Director. Dedicated to fostering homegrown talent, Tim is passionate about equipping teams with the resources and support needed to consistently deliver exceptional results to customers.

Kevin brings to the TMJ team over 25 years of experience, starting his accounting career in practice, before moving into industry roles gaining experience in both construction and retail. Drawing on a lifetime of involvement in family businesses, Kevin's keen financial expertise and practical business insights make him an invaluable asset as TMJ continues to grow.

Sarah joined TMJ Interiors as Business Development Manager, where her commercial focus and passion for building strong client relationships quickly saw her progress to the Board of Directors in 2017, becoming the first female Board member in TMJ’s history. She was appointed Pre-Contracts Director in 2018 and has since played a key role in the company’s strategic growth. As part of the management team successfully completing the MBO of TMJ Interiors, Sarah is now instrumental in shaping the company’s continued development, strengthening client relationships and driving its future success.

Having been conducting business consultancy since 2013, Nick has a wide range of business interests. Nick's role as the Non Executive Director at TMJ is to support the Board of Directors and inject new ideas to help with company growth.

Starting his career at TMJ as a Bench Joiner, Pat was quickly promoted to Workshop Foreman and then Workshop Manager. In line with TMJ’s growth and success Pat joined the Board of Directors in 2007. Pat has overseen some of TMJ’s most prestigious projects including Windsor Castle and the Royal Opera House.

Martin joined TMJ to lead the Design Department before heading the Project Management team and being appointed to the Board of Directors as Projects Director in 2007. Today, he leads TMJ's Landmark Division, overseeing some of the UK's most prestigious and technically complex construction projects, ensuring exceptional quality, performance and client satisfaction. A career highlight was serving as the Director responsible for the successful delivery of the RIBA Award-winning Bloomberg European Headquarters, a globally recognised benchmark for innovation, sustainability and architectural excellence. Under his leadership, TMJ continues to deliver outstanding projects that enhance the built environment and exceed client expectations.

Peter started TMJ as a Bench Joiner and has progressed throughout the company in nine various roles before being promoted to the Board of Directors in 2015. Now heading up our Pioneer Division, Peter is focused on repeat business and ensuring smooth delivery of our large commercial projects.

Mark has worked his way up throughout the company, spending time in most of our departments including our Joinery Shop and the Veneer Department. Mark always had a flair for site work and progressed to site manager and then to Project Manager before being promoted to Projects Director. Mark heads up our Alliance Division, delivering our specialist and prestigious projects.

Matt started his career as an apprentice joiner, quickly progressing through multiple management positions within the joinery and site environment before training as a Project Manager by the age of 30. He has since delivered a wide range of high-profile project both in the UK and internationally. Before joining TMJ Matt had spent 3 years delivering high end residential with a further 9 years delivering commercial fit out across London.

After many years working on TMJ sites fixing our joinery, Georgi started his TMJ journey as a Trainee Project Manager. His proactive and dedicated approach led him to being promoted to Projects Director, working on some of our most high profile commercial projects leading our Aspire Division. Georgi is now Operations Director, focusing on driving site operations excellence and supporting the company’s continued growth and market presence.

After graduating in furniture design in 2004 Andy has gained a wide range of experience in joinery design and project management leading to his role at TMJ where he works closely with businesses to develop our supply chain network

As a qualified Architect, Barret joined TMJ as a Project Manager with a wealth of design knowledge and experience. Barret works on our super prime residential and commercial packages as a key member of the Landmark Team.

Starting his career at TMJ as an Estimator, Brett was promoted to Estimating Manager in 2020.  He now leads the Estimating team and is responsible for the overall running and development of the department, overseeing tendering activities from initial enquiry through to final submission. Brett works closely with the wider senior leadership team on tender strategy, workload and ensuring the right opportunities are pursued for the business.

Starting her career as Site Administrator, Charlotte quickly found a passion for site delivery and became a Trainee Site Manager. Within four years Charlotte has focused on training and development and is now a Project Manager, delivering some of the most prestigious commercial projects in the UK for the Aspire Team.

Chris has more than 25 years experience delivering high-end residential, commercial and specialist interior projects throughout the UK and North America. He oversees the successful planning, coordination and delivery of complex joinery and fit-out packages, working closely with clients, consultants and project teams to achieve outstanding results.

Chris started at TMJ as a Site Fixer, before becoming a Site Manager in 2002. Promoted to Project Manager in 2008, one of Chris’s greatest achievements at TMJ was becoming a member of CIOB. Chris is a valued member of the Pioneer Team and was pivotal to the successful delivery of the Microsoft Flagship Store in London.

Dan started at TMJ as a Bench Joiner Apprentice, where we won Apprentice of the Year three years in a row. Transitioning to our site delivery team, Dan proved to be an excellent Site Manager offering a solution led approach on some of our challenging projects. In 2023, Dan was promoted to Project Manager and has since achieved his BSc in Construction Management.

Joining the TMJ Team in 1986 as an Apprentice, David has had many roles within his time at TMJ, and his long-standing role as Design Department Manager has proven to be a great success. David heads up our Design Department alongside Max Rogers, overseeing Design Development across our multitude of projects.

Ed began his career at 17 after gaining a City & Guilds qualification in boat and yacht construction, building experience in traditional boat restoration on the Norfolk Broads and luxury cruiser construction in New Zealand. Returning to the UK, he progressed into leadership roles before moving into design management as a CAD draftsman. Over the past eight years at TMJ, Ed has advanced from Design Manager to Operations Manager, leading complex projects, improving processes, strengthening collaboration across teams and supporting successful project delivery. Driven by continuous improvement, Ed is passionate about building effective systems and helping teams perform at their best.

Joining TMJ as a Trainee Site Manager, Gerry quickly progressed in the same year to Site Manager. With his practical and efficient approach Gerry was promoted to Project Manager in 2020 and has worked on some of our most high profile commercial projects as a key member of the Pioneer Team.

Whilst completing her masters in Human Resource Management, Hannah’s career started as PA to our Managing Director. She then moved into our HR Department as Assistant HR Manager. Upon completion of her qualification, Hannah joined the Senior Management Team and was promoted to HR Manager.

Josh leads TMJ's IT function, overseeing cybersecurity, business systems, software development, and support. Passionate about using technology to solve business challenges, he delivers innovative solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen security, and support TMJ's growth.

Upon joining TMJ, Laura started on our reception of what was then our new premises at Manor Wood. Fast forward over 30 years and Laura is still based at Manor Wood, however, has trained and progressed through the company, now responsible for all buying activity for the business.

Laura brings a wealth of HR experience in operational and leadership roles. She leads a small team at TMJ who focus on how we recruit, support and develop our valued employees. We strive to create a great place to work, where our values are at the core.

Starting at TMJ as a Project Planner, Lewis was given the opportunity to become a Trainee Project Manager, spending time in different departments learning all aspects of the business. Thriving in this position Lewis was promoted to Project Manager successfully delivering projects for the Pioneer Team.

Marcus joined TMJ as a Health and Safety Advisor in 2022 and, through his practical, proactive, and results-driven approach, quickly progressed to the role of Health & Safety Department Manager in 2024. Since joining the business, Marcus has played a key role in supporting some of TMJ's most high-profile projects, overseeing all aspects of health and safety, risk management, and compliance across both Project Sites and our Bildeston manufacturing facility. His hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement have helped drive positive safety performance throughout the business.

Matthew started a carpentry apprenticeship in 2015 building bespoke residential buildings, whilst working on the tools Matthew was soon running his own jobs with his own team. Since joining TMJ in 2022, Matthew has played a key role in delivering several major projects, earning outstanding customer feedback and building strong industry relationships.

Max joined the TMJ team as a Bench Joiner Apprentice and on completion went on to mentor and develop others at TMJ. Max's experience of production processes now sees him managing a team of Production Technicians to oversee and deliver designs to production using the latest manufacturing software.

Starting in our Finishing Department, Nick was quickly offered the position of Site Manager. Whilst in this role his favourite project was Albion Riverside with Foster + Partners. Now promoted to Project Manager Nick works on many of our super prime residential packages and is a key member of the Landmark Team.

Paul began his career as an apprentice carpenter and has spent over 35 years in the industry, with the last 20 focused on delivering high-value fit-out projects. He has held senior roles across several specialist contractors, bringing extensive experience in project delivery, operations, and construction management. Since joining TMJ, Paul continues to play a key role in leading complex projects and driving operational excellence.

Before joining the TMJ Team in 2017, Ricky handcrafted bespoke joinery for 10 years. Ricky started at TMJ as a Bench Joiner, before taking on the responsibility of becoming an Apprenticeship Mentor and then progressing to the role of Site Manager in 2021, delivering one of TMJ's largest ever projects. Following which, Ricky was then promoted to a Project Manager in 2024 and is a valued member of the Aspire team.

Rob started at TMJ as Project Manager with a wealth of knowledge and experience. He enjoys delivering high levels of quality on some of the most prestigious commercial projects in the UK for the Aspire Team.

Rob started his career in the joinery workshop and over the years progressed through the ranks, venturing out on site installing and eventually supervising teams of his own. Supervision soon turned into Contracts Management in the commercial fit out sector, delivering turnkey projects throughout the South East. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, he has joined TMJ as a Project Manager.

Stuart joined the team as a bench joiner, quickly moving into the Estimating and Surveying Department the following year. As the business grew this one department became two and Stuart moved forward with the Surveying Team before becoming Senior Surveyor in 2016. He now heads up the Surveying Department as Managing Surveyor

Suzanna is passionate about creating impactful marketing initiatives that strengthen TMJ's brand and build meaningful connections. As Marketing and Events Manager, she leads the company's marketing strategy, oversees brand communications and delivers engaging events that bring together clients, partners and the wider community.

Sarah joined TMJ as QuESH Administrator and quickly progressed to Quality & Environmental Manager whilst studying for her Practitioner membership of ISEP. Sarah now heads up our Compliance, Quality and Sustainability department, ensuring both projects and TMJ achieve the necessary regulatory requirements. As a result Sarah has worked on some of TMJ's high profile projects.

Rebecca joined TMJ in 2025, bringing with her a strong background in partnerships across the travel and events industry. Having spent time living and studying in both Italy and Spain, her international experience helped shape her relationship-focused approach, which she now brings to the construction and interiors sector. Passionate about connecting people and creating opportunities, Rebecca supports TMJ's continued growth through developing strong and lasting business relationships.
