Last month, we were given the opportunity to visit East Anglian Air Ambulance at their base in Cambridge.
At the base, we got the chance to speak with the paramedics and flight crew on duty for that day, to hear first-hand the hard work they put in to life-saving missions every day. The crew, consisting of two pilots, a doctor and a critical care paramedic, can be called out to a mission at any minute, and the patients range from basic medical care to critically in danger, so the crew must always be prepared to face anything.
The charity does not receive any government funding, and therefore relies solely on donations and fundraising to fund the operation of a life-saving service.
We were delighted to present the crew with a cheque totalling £2900 for our fundraising in 2018.
A huge thank you to everyone that got involved in our fundraising events last year, your donations make a big difference to these great causes!
