On Wednesday 24th January 2018, 11 employees from Overbury took part in our Specialist Training Day at our manufacturing facility in Bildeston, Suffolk. The day offered both a practical and theoretical insight into joinery, how the idea is taken from concept to reality.
The day included presentations and hands on experience across TMJ from our Design to Despatch Teams. Our Environmental and H&S teams took the opportunity to highlight the importance achieving project standards collaboratively. The day began with a thorough workshop tour of our 60,000 sq. ft. custom made facility starting in the workshop we invited Adam Prime one of TMJ’s experienced joiners to demonstrate a door frame assembly. The group then matched and plained veneer in our Veneer Department, gaining hands on experience carrying out repairs by cutting patches and matching by hand. Mark Davis our Veneer Department Manager, judged the best veneer repairs from the group with Samit Rai, Overbury’s Assistant Site Manger winning the award! Barry Harman, one of our experienced Finishers demonstrated the process of preparing, spraying and de nibbing, before the group were able to get hands on experience spraying their own panels in our new 8,500 sq. ft. facility. The group finished their day with our Despatch Team with a presentation on our logistic management processes, demonstrating the importance of wrapping and packing our joinery, to be safely delivered to site.
