A leader within the UK construction market offering bespoke joinery solutions for Commercial, Residential and Specialist projects, we are currently looking for an experienced wood finisher who can produce a high quality of workmanship in our busy Spray Shop, based in Bildeston. Our site supports various clients and projects across the UK. You will be involved in the completion of components, ensuring that the highest standards of finish and tolerances in accordance with information supplied, are achieved using the correct methods.
The position is Monday to Friday, however there is an element of flexibility to cover some overtime as and when needed.

Main Responsibilities:
Senior Spray Shop Operative
- Apply finishes to wood products with precision and attention to detail
- Prepare and treat wood to achieve the desired finish as identified in the technical drawings.
- Required to lift heavy products Doors/panels and use aids where required by H&S
- Sand and prepare each stage and apply primer and finish coats in line with technical specifications. Applying masking tape to cover areas that are not seen.
- Filling cavities or dents with filler or wax
- Mix paints/stains according to specification
- Cleaning spray equipment and brushes with solvents or water
- Using wire brushes or steel wool
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of wood finishing techniques, materials, and processes, with a keen eye for detail and quality. Training will be provided to develop into supervisor role during the absence of Spray Shop Manager.
Trainee Supervisor Role
- Being the first point of call in Spray Shop / Finishing Department in the absence of the sprayshop manager
- Updating Scheduling Task and the Planner when needed.
- Support the overseeing of Quality Control measures being adhered to and all products manufactured to a high standard.
- Working with the Team to ensure deadlines are met, prioritising jobs and meeting delivery date targets.
- Promotes a climate in which information and knowledge is openly shared.
- Work closely with your Senior Manager/Director ensuring they are kept up to date with everything relating to the department.
- Attend Management meetings and cascade the information and report for the team.
- You will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of company core values and objectives.
Skills and Competencies:
- Wood finishing Experience and knowledge
- Keen eye for attention to detail
- Reliable, committed and hardworking
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to work as an active team member whilst equally comfortable working alone
- Effective communication skills – verbal & written.
- Good time keeping management and time keeping.
