10 employees from the TMJ Team attended our Specialist Training Day, which offers both a practical and theoretical insight into joinery and how we take the idea from conception to reality.
The course included presentations from our Design Team understanding 3D drawings, an introduction on how machinery works in our mill from our Manufacturing team including a workshop walk round and a demonstration of a door frame assembly. The group then listened to presentations from our Environmental and H&S teams, highlighting their importance within the industry. Next stop was our Veneer Department, who presented to the group Veneer Management, matching and plaining of Veneer, the group then gained hands on experience carried out repairs by cutting patches and matching by hand.
The group then had a demonstration in our in house spray shop by our Spray Shop Manager before getting hands on and spraying their own panels, before learning the process of preparing and spraying joinery and a demonstration of de nibbing. The group finished their day with our Despatch Team with a presentation on our logistic management and packing and dispatch of the doors and joinery.
The objective of the day was for the team to gain a greater insight into the processes at TMJ across the various departments. The day combined presentations, briefings, demonstrations and practical hands on experiences along with a competition for best veneered panel. Mark Davis our Veneer Manager, judged the best veneer patch and match from the group with Charlotte O’Brien our Business Development Administrator winning the prize!
