Human Resources Manager – 15 Month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team on a fixed‑term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our HR department, working with our HR Advisor to support just over 200 employees. The role is ideal for someone who can quickly build relationships, support managers and their teams, and deliver high‑quality HR guidance adapting to suit a range of situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ER cases across the business – performance management, grievances, disciplinaries, absence management and any other dispute resolutions.
  • Support managers with the recruitment process, creating job descriptions, posting vacancies, and helping to select and hire candidates.
  • Lead our onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring contract changes, reviews and exit interviews are captured.
  • Manage training and development for all employees.
  • Ensure the company complies with employment laws and regulations, making sure policies and processes remain up to date.
  • Coordinate internal forums, including employee reps meeting and quarterly HR briefings.
  • Analyse HR data and provide insights to support decision‑making.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant, up‑to‑date, and aligned with best practice.
  • Support organisational change projects, restructuring, or other key HR initiatives during the contract period.

About You

  • Proven experience in an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Confident handling complex employee relations cases.
  • A collaborative communicator who builds trust quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • L5 CIPD qualified or equivalent experience is desirable.
