TMJ are advocate in reinvestment and improving the TMJ working environment and believe that continuous training will only enhance that.
We have collaborated and work closely with Building Crafts College, Stratford, West Suffolk College and Mace Business School.
Our G A Training Centre is a fully functional training centre that is used for both in-house and external training. The Centre offers facilities for up to 24 seated trainees, including conference call and presentation capabilities. It also incorporates various environmental and sustainable initiatives in line with our ethos to protect the environment, including motion detecting lighting and solar panels. The training Centre is an adaptable and collaborative space for our team and clients.
TMJ boasts our specialist one-day training course that offers both a practical and theoretical insight into joinery and how we take an idea from conception to reality. “In 2007, I approached TMJ at the age 15 to gain some work experience and spent two weeks with TMJ working in various departments. I continued my work experience with TMJ from 2007 – 2010, every half term and summer holiday I spent time with TMJ gaining experience on reception and in the purchasing department.
I also ventured to London getting knowledge of our live projects and completing site administration. The best thing about TMJ was the opportunity to learn more every day, always another string to add to your bow!
In 2010, with experiences gained from TMJ I began to work for an international fashion retailer, to advance my personal skills in the world of work. Climbing the ladder, in 2013 I become part of the store Management team and in 2014 I became Store Manager. This was a great achievement at the age of 21, managing my team of 15 in a competitive and fast paced industry. During this time I completed my Business Management Degree, that was sponsored by TMJ with the view that I would return to TMJ once I had developed both my personal and work skills.
I returned to TMJ in January 2017 to continue my career with TMJ, currently a Personal Assistant to the Board of Directors and am also studying for my Level 7 CIPD in Human Resources. I have always had a passion for HR and TMJ have enabled me to follow my ambitions and also being able to train on the job has helped me attaining new skills; without TMJ’s support and commitment to training I would not have been able to achieve what I have at the age of 24.”
