Scope of Works
The co-ordination and design development of African walnut wall panelling and handrails to the auditorium and toilets, Seat positioning within the auditorium, African walnut doors, Royal and private boxes with African walnut wall panelling.
The current building is the third theatre on the site following disastrous fires in 1880 and 1857. The most recent transformation of The Royal Opera House took place between 1997 and 2000. The auditorium and foyer spaces of the 1858 building were retained and lovingly restored to their former glory, while the remainder of the site was rebuilt to house a state-of-the-art auditorium consisting of four tiers of boxes and balconies and an additional 2,256 seats.
Amanda Saunders - Opera House's Development Director
The refurbishment of the whole building left me astounded.
